Constitution and By-Laws

Article I - Name:

The name shall be Valley City R/C Club

Article II - Purpose:

To promote interest in construction and flying of radio-controlled model aircraft, and to maintain a suitable flying site.

Article III - Meetings:

(A) The directors shall meet at least once a year.

(B) An election of members to "Board of Directors" shall be held each year at the regular first meeting in December.

(C) Meetins will be held on the first and third Fridays of the month, from October to May.

(D) Special meetings may be called by the president who shall give at least three (3) days prior notice.

Article IV - Membership:

(A) Membership limited to club approval.

(B) Prospective members must attend two meetings. Member must be accepted by 75% of members present at the third meeting.

(C) All members will be current AMA members.

(D) Membership limited to fifty paid-up members. Surplus applications will be placed on a waiting list until a membership position opens.

(E) Each member will be a full member with voting rights and will assume equal responsibility and liability.

(F) Club guest must be current AMA member. Guest fliers must be accompanied by a member in good standing. (A "Member in good standing" is current in all AMA and club dues and assessments. The member must have received his "Solo Flight Wings," or have someone present who has).

(G) All members will agree to support and adhere to these "Constitution and By-laws."

(H) The fifty membership limit shall be individual adult members. Additional family members will not be added to this count.

(I) The current club officers will have the authority to expel any member not conducting themselves in the best interest of the Vally City R/C Club by a majority vote.

(J) In the event that a new person, who is being taught to fly, wants to join the Valley City R/C Club and use the club field facilities during the summer time when there are no regular meetins being held, this is the procedure to be followed:

1. Once the new person has been trained to fly and has been cleard to solo, by completing the Valley City R/C Club Solo Flight Program, a decision will have to be made by that new person. He will have to decide whether or not he wants to join the Valley City R/C Club. If he decides not to join the club, then steps 2- 5 below will apply:

2. The new person, desiring to join the club, will be charged an amount of dues, prorated depending on the club dues in effect at that time and the present month that he is joining. (Example: If a person wants to join the Valley City R/C Club in July, and the dues are presently $45.00, his dues will be $45.00 / 12 x 6 = $22.50.)

3. The new member will be placed on probation until such a time as he attends two club meetings and is voted in as a member by 75% of the membership present at the third meeting.

4. If the new member does not attend two meetings and does not show up to be voted ina t the third meeting before the end of the present year, His probation period will end, he will cease to be a member of the club, he will forfeit any money paid to the club and he wil not be allowed any further use of the club's flying field.

5. A new person/new probationary member may go through this procedure (Article IV, section J, steps 1-5) only one time. After that, he will no longer be considered a new person or a new member and will have to join the club in accordance with and complying to sections A through I of the Article in order to join the club and to have any further use of the club flying field.

Article V - Officers:

(A) Officies shall be President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer. The Board of Directors shall include all current and past officers.

(B) The governing body of this organization shall be the Board of Directors.

(C) Officer's term shall be one year commencing January 1st each year.

(D) Club officers shall be known as active members.

(E) The following committees will be appointed by the President and/or the membership: Fun-fly, Field, Banquet and others as required.

Article VI - Dues:

(A) Club dues should be paid by the end of January 31.

(B) Members who have not paid their dues before the first meeting in February, will lose their membership in the club.

(C) AMA dues should be apid according to current AMA rules.

(D) There shall be no flying until AMA dues are paid.

(E) It is each member's repsonsibility to see that their dues are paid on time.

(F) Club member's dependent children under 19 years of age shall be entitled to membership privileges without additional dues. These dependents will be AMA members if they inted to fly.

(G) Juniors coming of age 19 will be full dues-paying members.*

*Exception: any junior member, 19 or over, will be exempt from dues while attending college for a maximum of four (4) years. After the four year grace period the junior member will become a full dues paying member.

Article VII - Amendments

(A) These Constituions and By0lays may be amended by an affirmative vote of two-thirds (2/3) of members present at any regular meeting.

(B) Any amendments to Constitution and By-laws must be presented at a regualr meeting.

(C) These amendments will then be voted on at the next regular meeting for aproval.

Article VIII: This Consitution and By-laws was adopted by a majority vote of members present at a regular meetin last year (1990).
